what?
Narratweet is an application that will attempt to create a visual narrative of your interactions on Twitter using a set of icons and glyphs.Simply go to the demo page and type in your twitter username to try out the current alpha build.
Narratweet is a university project by Dan Powell. You can see a snippet of the development process by visiting Dan's blog at www.autumnrain.co.uk/blog.
why?
Narrative and storytelling is a fundamental part of being human. This fact can be easily seen by looking at our daily lives: we spend our free time reading novels and going to watch performances at the cinema or theatre; we talk about others using rumor and hearsay; we share stories with each other in our social time.Narratweet attempts to provide a way in which you can visualize your social interactions, and in doing so highlight their fundamental storytelling properties.
how?
After a user has entered their Twitter username in to Narratweet, it will generate a row of symbols that correspond to key-words within your tweets. The application is only in alpha stages at the moment and only has a very small library of icons at it's disposal so don't expect great results straight away.
